This past Friday the kids and I spent the afternoon going to a few flea markets with Katy and Erica.  I found a couple of things and we spent a pleasant afternoon with people we love.

An Afternoon of Shopping

Yesterday after finishing our school work for the day Aimee, Jake, Jo and I spent the afternoon shopping with Aunt Katy.

First we went to Reflections of Olde on Congress, then Jefferson Street Market, another antique shop down on Jefferson toward Pinhook, then onto the Goodwill on Bertrand (where we met up with Nicole and Greta), next was the Goodwill on Ambassador Caffery, then the Brit and Bay Home Decor store on Ambassador (oh my such loverly things), then a quick run into Payless and last but not least the new Paul Michaels store in River Ranch ( double oh my, lets just say you should go).  Fun afternoon and the kids were really good.  Katy was shopping for a bed for Erica and a table and chairs for her new den.

Jo Jo found a hat at Reflections of Olde that struck her fancy.

Too Cute.

At Goodwill she found a book she just couldn’t live without and insisted on taking a picture with it.

pictures 371 I found a cute iron table for the front porch that needs a little rehab, and a pair of shorts for Jeanne.  All in all a fun afternoon.

PS. Katy, I just thought of another place we can look for a bed for Erica.  Call Me.

Old School House Antique Fair

This past Friday Katy, Alexa and I drove up to Washington in St. Landry Parish and did a little shopping at their annual fall outdoor sale.  I managed to find some goodies and Katy bought me a couple of beautiful things.

Sugar Bowl

My sweet sis Katy found my wayward sugar bowl and took a picture of it so I could blog about it.    She made it look really precious.  Don’t you think?  Thanks sis.

Wednesday’s Finds

Yesterday Katy and I took a little trip to St. Martin and St. Landry Parishes.  In  Breaux Bridge at Something Old Something new I found a sweet little sugar dish in the violet/gold rim set that I love.  ( I forgot it in her truck so no pic)  At Bayou Town I found 4 pink depression glass goblets to extend my colletion to 13.  These glasses look lovely with the  white and pink dishes Normand got me for Christmas last year.

After leaving Bayou Town we drove over a block or so and had lunch at Cafe Des Amis.  For starters we had a divine cup of seafood and corn bisque with the most yummy tender french bread.  For our entree we each decided to get an appetizer Katy got the eggplant wheels over a scrumptious creamy crawfish au-gratin and I got crawfish cornbread over a creole crawfish etoufee.  Divine and huge portions let me tell ya.   Please forgive us for not taking pictures of the food.  I guess we were just to hungry to think of it. Then we took ourselves to the shop across from St. Bernard's Catholic Church where I  Katy found a cute ball jar with a glass.  She said it would be a great container for me put a little sumthin sumthin in for her.

We then drove north to Arnaudville to the St. Therese Wednesday garage sale.  Where I found a few cute apothecary jars to add to my collection.

Then we decided that since we were in the area we should just drive on down to Grand Coteau and check out the shops there.  We went to the Kitchen Shop and browsed around and looked at all the lovely things there.  I picked up a Pumpkin Cranberry Scone mix.  I can’t wait to try it.   We then strolled on over to Creola Cafe and had the most scrumptious Pecan Apple Caramel Pie with vanilla ice cream.  Oh so good.  Oh so full.  Good Company, Good Day.  Thanks Katy for letting me tag along.

Morning Coffee

This morning I enjoyed my nice hot cup of  Community Dark Roast in this precious new coffee cup.  Katy and David went on a little flea market trip yesterday to Washington, LA  and  bought it for me.   Thank you my lovely sister.   The cup and saucer matches a set of dishes I found at Goodwill last week.    So I took a few pictures of it on the front porch this morning.   Enjoy

Momma's Day Out

Yesterday I got away and took a little time for myself. I met my friend Nicole and her daughter Malory in Arnaudville at St Theresa's. I found a few goodies there including a cute fat apothecary jar, a few interesting jars to use in gift baskets, a precious cream and sugar, silk day lilies and fern, shelf liner and a yellow fiestaware teapot with no lid. Then we drove down to Breaux Bridge and hit a couple of flea markets there. At Bayou Town I found a few pieces of my Blue Whisper china, 8 place settings of my Totally Today white dishes w/ extra bowls and salad plates ( I now have 24 complete place settings and lots of extra bowls and salad/dessert plates), two pressed glass candy dishes, airplane decals, a really cute berry round table cloth. All in all a fun and lovely day with cherished friends.
