Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving and my birthday just so happened to fall on the same day.  It was a beautiful clear day and I enjoyed it surrounded by my fabulous family and was treated to a delicious meal and a sweet birthday party and lots of gifts.   Thank You to everyone who made my day so special.

On the menu on Turkey Day 2 baked turkeys, baked ham, merliton and shrimp in a cream sauce, cauliflower in a cheese sauce, rice and turkey gravy, brocolli cornbread, short rib dressing, divine sweet potatos, chicken and cornbread dressing, garlic french bread, brownies, choc chip cookies, sugar cookies w/candied fruit, and  German chocolate cake.   Oh my gosh it was all sooooo good.

A Beautiful Couple

Last Sunday we celebrated my parents Golden Anniversary.  Normand and I hosted a lunch for about 45 people here in our home.   The week before was very busy with preparations for the lovely day.  You can see pictures of the day here at Katy’s blog.  It was a beautiful day and a wonderful tribute to my parents.

I’ve been creating.

Over the past week my creative juices have been flowing and I’ve completed a few projects.

For my dear friend Nicole’s daughter Malory’s bridal shower gift  I put together a wooden tray with a few fall goodies.

A little sign with the cute couples wedding date and last name.  I’m so happy with the way this came out.

In the tray I also included a cute wine basket and a bottle of wine.  I think she liked it.   Congratulations Malory I’m so proud of the woman you have become.

Missy's runner2

I also made this burlap runner with copper fleur d lis on it for a very belated birthday for my friend Missy.   Missy  how does it look on your buffet?  I think I need to make one for myself now.

I’m patting myself on the back for the crafts I accomplished this past week along with going to a wonderful family reunion, hosting a party for 18 of my kids friends and attending the lovely shower.

The couple at this house do it up right.  They have a talking Mr. Pumpkin who talks to the kids and tells really corny Halloween jokes.  They serve hotdogs, chili, punch and sweets.  What a great way to end our trick or treat adventure.

Jo Jo’s Last Day of Swimming Lessons

Today was Joanna’s last day of Swimming Lessons.  COLA (City of Lafayette Aquatics) is now using the SwimAmerica method of teaching kids to swim.  This month on Tuesdays and Thursdays  she has been taking lessons and Jeanne has been an instructor in the same sessions.  Joanna learned alot and is on her way to becoming another one of those fast Miller swimmers.  Here are a few pictures I took of her today.    Her instructors were Coach Sarah and Ms. Sherry.  Thanks ladies you made this a great experience for our girl. pictures 020-017 pictures 021-018 pictures 022-019 pictures 023-020 pictures 005-004

Old School House Antique Fair

This past Friday Katy, Alexa and I drove up to Washington in St. Landry Parish and did a little shopping at their annual fall outdoor sale.  I managed to find some goodies and Katy bought me a couple of beautiful things.
