When Pigs Fly
This past Friday the kids and I spent the afternoon going to a few flea markets with Katy and Erica. I found a couple of things and we spent a pleasant afternoon with people we love.
The girls always have a great time what ever we do. Nothing like playin hooky on a Friday afternoon.

Jesse Tree
One of our family traditions for advent is to find, bring home and decorate a Jesse Tree. This year we went out to Normand’s Aunt Inky’s property in the Carenro to find our tree and evergreen boughs for our Advent wreath. We always enjoy walking around her property making memories with our kids. We took the three little kids this year.
There shall come forth a shoot
from the stump of Jesse,
and a branch shall grow out of his roots.Isaiah 11:1
The Jesse Tree is a beautiful anticipatory tradition for the great feast of Our Lord's Nativity. A visual representation of the family tree of Jesus, the Jesse Tree offers the family a yearly opportunity to spend time with the great cloud of witnesses that St. Paul spoke of in his epistle to the Hebrews. And since the Old Testament should never be read in isolation, but always in light of the New, the tradition of the Jesse Tree offers that view into the Old, always illuminated by the Light of Bethlehem.
You can download images for your Jesse Tree here. I found the scripture list here.

Jake’s Birthday Weekend
Jacob had a great birthday weekend. Here are a few pictures of Jake and the fun he had this weekend.
Presents this one is a little tool set
Playing Battleship with Aimee and Dad
Joanna is brushing Dad’s hair ( one of his favorite things)
His Godfather Danny and cousin Christopher came over Saturday afternoon. They took him shopping for his gift ( nerf gun target thing). Then they came home and played football for an hour or so . I tell you that just made his weekend.
Then he had a fire in the firepit on the patio.
We found this tool chest and project apron on our trip to the Arnaudville-Grand Coteau 7 mile garage sale.
He also received money from Maw Maw and Paw Paw, a basketball from Aunt Robin and a rubberband Gatling Gun from Uncle David and Aunt Katy.
Happy Birthday Jake.
