Who Dat?

I’m linking to Metamorphosis Monday

Pic for Body of Blog3 at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/2010/01/welcome-to-54th-metamorphosis-monday.html

Today I decided that we need a little black and gold around here to celebrate the upcoming black and gold superbowl.  Not wanting to spend any money to do this I looked around the house and this is what I came up with.

I wrapped the straw wreath with a black tablecloth, Christmas beads and added a boa & gold ribbon bow, fleur d lis and made over Mardi Gras masks.  I love how it came out.

I used a paint pin on the masks.

Epiphany

Last night Jacob, Mark and Sebastian Centers played the parts of the three wise men in a procession of the gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  Here they are as Balthazar, Gaspar, and Melchior.

We three kings of Orient are;
Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.

pictures 083-002

O star of wonder, star of light,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.
pictures 088-007

Born a King on Bethlehem’s plain
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign.

pictures 089-008

Frankincense to offer have I;
Incense owns a Deity nigh;
Prayer and praising, voices raising,
Worshipping God on high.

pictures 096-015

Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom;
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,
Sealed in the stone cold tomb.

pictures 097-016

Glorious now behold Him arise;
King and God and sacrifice;
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Sounds through the earth and skies.
